Classique Lamp

Vintage Column Style Classique Table Lamp circa 1920's

Accentuate your parlor, living room, or home office with flapper flavor in this circa 1920's Classique column lamp. This double light table lamp has the original pull chain switches on each independently lit standard socket. It is white with original patina and has been rewired for full function. Rayon-covered cord is still part of the charm. This piece measures 20 1/2" tall. The base diameter is 6 1/2". Atop the lamp, the flange awaits a reverse painted glass shade which you provide. For purpose of sizing, the inside edge/ring of this flange measures 3 1/2". The outside is 4" in diameter. The bottom of the lamp has the original black felt cover with tag featuring an embroidered "Classique Lamps" crest. This lamp is in good condition. Age distress is evident on the base bottom and light sockets, yet this is quite an ornate and sophisticated beauty.

Classique Lamp Co. a popular and high quality lamp company was in Chicago for many years at the turn of the century and was known for their high quality lamps. The reverse scenic painting was done in the dimple "heavy applied paint" style. Great attention to detail in their high quality shades and outstanding bases which were distinctive.
