Pittsburgh Owl Lamp Base

Here is an antique art nouveau Pittsburgh lamp base. This base is referred to as the "owl base" and if you view the 3rd picture you can see why also. It has beautiful detail and lines with a copper finish, commensurate with age . There are 2 small spots where the copper is starting to peel but they are to small to photograph. The base is 23" tall to the top of the finial. It retains it's original 3 P & S (Pass & Seymour) copper sockets with the porcelain liners. The base has been rewired with a brown cloth period cord and old plug. Please view all the pictures as they give the best description of this lamp base. An opportunity for you to own a great antique lamp base.

The Pittsburgh "Pilabrasgo" Co. was started by Nicholas Kopp in 1900, a chemist known for his knowledge and ability to hand mold and color beautiful lamps that were very popular until 1926, when the company bankrupted. Now the upper end Pittsburgh lamps are popular and command high prices. Brings joy to the home every day of the year.
